Horton Levi Ltd now offers a PAT inspection service in addition to thermal imaging and electrical surveys. Our fully qualified staff will test appliances efficiently with minimum disruption, out of working hours if required. We use the latest test equipment that produces a legal certificate on site or within a day depending on the size of the site or building. As part of the inspection we check microwave ovens for radiation leakage.

EMPLOYERS Legal obligations                         Portable appliances used by employees or the public must be maintained to ensure they are safe. These can include, but are not exclusive, to public buildings and work places such as hotels, schools, hospitals, shops, offices etc.

Landlords Legal obligations                           houses - holiday homes - flats - bed sits, even boats and caravans that are let for business purposes are required by law to supply safe equipment and appliances.

By law, appliances such as driers, kettles, televisions, washing machines etc if new or used have to be regularly maintained to ensure that they are safe. A record must be kept of the appliances supplied as part of the tenancy agreement and periodic checks made on those items. The Record log / Certificate should name the competent person who carried out the checks and when they did it.

P.A.T. testing, using professionally approved and calibrated equipment, is the established method to comply with regulations.
