III. AERIAL & GROUND THERMOGRAPHIC SURVEYS
Every effort is made to achieve full coverage of
the designated areas however Horton Levi Ltd
reserves the right to limit filming of locations
where, in the opinion of the survey engineer,
access to a vantage point may be hazardous or
where entry is restricted.
Where access has been restricted by a third
party, or where hazards beyond those agreed at
quotation exist. then Horton Levi reserves the
right to invoice at the full, specified rate
regardless of omitted areas.
Although Horton Levi uses only aircraft
companies employing fully trained survey pilots
and fully fitted survey aircraft, It must be
accepted that aerial survey data collection
sorties do not guarantee 100% ground coverage
unless expressly specified for a
particular survey in writing by Horton Levi Ltd.
Standard sorties include a swathe overlap to
ensure reasonable area coverage.
Air traffic control and/or security services may
without warning demand in flight changes of
planned survey altitude that may adversely
effect data overlap or resolution. These types
of situations are totally out of our control and
Horton Levi Ltd will not accept responsibility
for lost, missing or effected data.
Aerial heat loss surveys are conducted at night
during winter months whilst buildings are
heated. Surveys are often planned months ahead
to capture data on an appropriate cold night
where the ambient temperature is at least 14 Deg
C. lower than normal heated buildings. Some
winters are mild and wet in the UK and
appropriate nights may be few over the winter
months. Thermal contrast may be minimized
between buildings and roads or other
backgrounds. The data should still however be
present in the buildings.
Great care and attention is given to choosing
an appropriate night to survey, however no two
surveys are identical and Horton Levi Ltd can
only collect data that is recorded under the
conditions dictated by the environment. Physical
constraints must therefore be understood and
accepted by the customer.
